About one year before, on 7th and 8th of June 2008, you can test the organization and your r/c skill at the WAG international selection contest.



2008 Wag Selection Contest International – Torino Aeritalia

Organizer: AexA Aeromodelling Team – WAG 2009
Kind of competition: Open international.
Dates and places: The Competition will be held on June 7 and June 8, 2008 at Aeritalia Aero Club Torino Airport and Palasport Città di Torino PalaRuffini.
Very huge and excellent places for high performances, space, access, visibility, quality of landing and take-off areas, safety; basic action area for outdoor aeromodelling of 300x170 mt.; PalaRuffini is perhaps the largest building for indoor flying in all Competition Contests in Europe as largely described into CIAM Newsletter 03 in February 2008 ; circular field 48 mt diameter with hight of 20mt under ceiling.

The contest is open to three disciplines :

Radio Controlled Artistic Aerobatics (F6A/C):
Radio controlled Airplanes up to 5 kg. weight max, overall span 2mt and 2 mt length max., powered by any kind of combustion engines, electric motors or jet with the max weight of 15 kg. Radio Controlled Helicopters with swept area 300 sqdm, max weight 6 kg. powered by any kind of engine or electric motor with limitation to 42V for the battery pack.
Compulsory music for finals: selected nr. 2 downloadable from the above FAI website.

Radio controlled AeroMusicals Indoor (F6B s/c A):
Radio controlled Aircraft powered by electric motors, with max total weight of 500 gr. with limitation at 42V for the propulsion circuit.

Radio Controlled Hand Thrown Gliders (F6D):
Radio controlled gliders thrown by hand having max. wingspan 1500 mm and weight max. 600 gr.
radius of nose min. 5 mm.

Program:

The contest and all rounds for qualifications will take place at the two venues starting with outdoor competition on Saturday morning lasting two days including Sunday June 8,2008.
The Artistic Aerobatics F6A airplanes and helicopters will fly Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM without overlap with the Hand Thrown Gliders F6D, which will fly from 1PM to 8 PM.
Indoor flights will start at 5PM up to 8PM and from 8 PM to 10PM for semifinals not to have overlap with the Artistic Aerobatics outdoor.
Semifinals and finals will tentatively be flown on Sunday from 9 Am to 4PM outdoor and from 6PM to 8 PM indoor.

Entry forms should be filled online at the earliest from the contest date by mail through the

Deadline for the registration : May 10, 2008; exceptionally entry forms might be accepted, at the latest, the week before the contest date.
Entry fee: 30€ for participant and one discipline ; junior 10€ (under 1Cool for each discipline.
Every competitor will receive a confirmation by e-mail from the Organizer.
